The colorful Bohemian Barranco neighborhood of Lima

Bike Tours of Lima

We love activity when we travel, so a Lima, Peru event included a great find of Bike Tours of Lima.

Departing the ship, Rick and I and Ken and Rosealie walked the 10 minutes to the bike offices in town. Donning our helmets, we adjusted our bike seats and took off through the back streets to follow our guide. Biking past buses loaded with chickens, darting around children eating ice cream cones, and smelling the heavenly scent of the fragrant and bright bougainvillea, we laughed in delight.

We wound our way through the Miraflores neighborhood to view the Maraflores Boardwalk and the Parque del Amor. The colorful, bohemian Barranco neighborhood was our favorite. The churches and the Bridge of Sighs, the secluded walkways, and the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean were unparalleled. Stopping for an Inca Kola and a sandwich at a local dive, Bodega Piselli in the San Isidro neighborhood, we concluded that we had enjoyed a terrific day in this South American city.
