Electrifying New York City
Our family finally returned to the Big Apple! Living in New Hampshire back in the 90’s, we made the road trip to the City several times for Broadway shows, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, and attending the Late Show with David Letterman. But now, we were back with our adult children and here are the fun activities we discovered during the Christmas season.
Artichoke Pizza – outstanding pizza slices
1410 Broadway @ 39th St, 114 10th Ave @ 17th St
Beatnic – simple vegetarian stop with a yummy Guac Burger and Quinoa Taco Salad
1385 Broadway between 6th & 7th Ave
Zucker’s Bagels & Smoked Fish – tasty bagel stop
1065 6th Ave @ 40th St
2nd Avenue Deli – definitely a kosher place where they do not serve dairy! Best Rueben sandwich, but at a price
162 E 33rd St @ 3rd Ave
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao – we watched them make the dumplings
24 W 33rd St between 5th & 6th Ave
Brooklyn Bagels & Coffee Company – we decided that this was the BEST bagels stop in town!
286 8th Ave between 24th St & 25th St
Garden of Eden – wonderfully merchandised European grocery store – we just loved it
7 E. 14th St by 5th Ave
Jack’s Wife Freda – Lively bistro executing American-Mediterranean cooking & classic cocktails in understated digs
226 Lafayette, 116 8th Ave @ 16th St
