French Bed & Breakfast Finds

Every visit to France includes a delightful collection of lodging choices. This 2021 trip was no different and here are our favorite delightful B&B’s which we recommend.

La Roumec – Jennifer and John, hailing from England, were gracious hosts at this 1,000 year old building. We slept like babies with the windows open and the quiet countryside lulling us to a peaceful rest. The morning started on the terrace with coffee, breads, and homemade jams, and wonderful conversation. This was a real treasure.

La Remiso – A lovely hostess, a wonderful pool on a warm day, and a huge breakfast spread of goat cheese and our favorite, Pyrenees cheese, gave this a thumbs up for us. Plus, we left the window open where we enjoyed a sunset view over the mountains and we didn’t even hear a dog bark. Nice.

Carcassonne Guesthouse B&B – Patrick was born in Ireland and we relished in the terrace view over the ancient Carcassonne castle, watching the sunset change the hues over the stone walls. Drinking wine with new friends from Germany, we all sat and chatted about travel and life. Delightful.

Domaine du Chateau de Monrecour – This fabulous castle right outside of Beynac et Cazenac features two pools and a stately facade. Although you paid for breakfast, the ambiance was charming.
